Kendaka upcycles textile leftovers from Egyptian textile and clothing factories into trendy functional home- and tableware.
Originally many women in Badr mastered crochet. Kendaka introduced to the crochet artisans the upcycling concept, using the textile scraps. The leftover materials get sorted by colors, textures and usage before then being crochet into bags, baskets or coasters with varying shades of colors. Textiles could be pure cotton, or a mix of cotton, natural and synthetic fibres, or silk at times.
